Spend 14 days traveling through the Basque country in northern Spain and France.
Your program will begin in Bilbao, the Basque Country's largest city with excursions to the North Coast (Bermeo, Bakio, Mundaka), a visit to the city's famous Guggenheim Museum and to the historical Basque city of Gernika.
Other highlights of this educational travel program include:
Dr. Dave Lachiondo, Boise State University Director of Basque Studies, will lead this travel program. He has taught and traveled extensively in northern Spain and is active in the Basque community.
Cost is $3,999* and includes:
* Price is subject to adjustment due to exchange rate fluctuation and/or low enrollment.
** Departure from other cities may be arranged for an adjustment in cost.
*** Participants traveling independently are responsible for meeting up with the group.
**** Hotel rate is based on double occupancy. Single supplement is an additional $699.
Payments due:
Non-refundable deposit of $1,000 or more due by Feb. 10
Final payment due by March 9.

Refunds:
Prior to March 9, refunds will be issued minus one-half of payments (not including deposit).
After March 9, no refunds will be given.*
*We strongly recommend that trip cancellation /interruption insurance be purchased at the time of deposit. All applicable refunds are processed through travel insurance companies.

Day 1, June 25 - Arrive Bilbao
Upon your arrival in Bilbao, meet your coach to transfer to your hotel for your first overnight in Bilbao.
Day 2, June 26 – Bilbao, Getxo [B]
After breakfast, meet your local coach for a half day city tour of Bilbao. After, go on a boat tour from Bilbao to Gexto where you will visit the Guggenheim Museum. Transfer back to your hotel or overnight in Bilbao.
Day 3, June 27 – Bilbao, Basque Coast [B]
After breakfast, meet your coach to go on a bus tour of the northern Basque coast, Bakio, San Juan de Gastelugatxe, Bermeo, and Mundaca. Tour will end at hotel in Bilbao for overnight.
Day 4, June 28 – Gernika, Elanchove, Lekeitio [B]
After breakfast, meet your coach to go on a bus tour of Gernika, Elanchove, and Lekeitio. Your tour will end at your hotel for overnight in Gernika.
Day 5, June 29 – Leikeitio [B]
After breakfast and in due time, meet your coach to attend the feast of San Pedro. Overnight will be in Gernika.
Day 6, June 30 – Bilbao [B]
After breakfast, attend local Mass then transfer by coach back to Bilbao for overnight.
Day 7, July 1 – Bilbao [B]
After breakfast, depart on an anthropology tour and some local museums. Your overnight will be in Bilbao.
Day 8, July 2 – San Sebastian [B]
After breakfast, meet coach to transfer to San Sebastian.
Overnight will be in San Sebastian and for the remainder of the trip.
Day 9, July 3 – San Sebastian [B]
After breakfast, today will be at leisure in San Sebastian with coach.
Day 10, July 4 – San Sebastian, Zarautz, Getaria [B]
After breakfast, meet your coach for a bus tour to Zarautz and Getaria.
Day 11, July 5 – San Sebastian, Loyola, Azpeitia, Arantzatzu [B]
After breakfast, meet your coach for a half day bus tour of Loyola, Azpeitia, and Arantzatzu. Included is a visit to the Loyola Monastery.
Day 12, July 6 – San Sebastian [B]
After breakfast, today will be at leisure in San Sebastian with your coach.
Day 13, July 7 – San Sebastian, Iparralde [B]
After breakfast, meet your coach to transfer to Iparradle – Bayonne, Baigorry, and St. Jean de Pie d'Port.
Day 14, July 8 – San Sebastian [B]
After breakfast, your day will be at leisure in San Sebastian with coach.
Day 15, July 9 – San Sebastian, Rioja [B]
After breakfast and in due time, meet your coach to transfer to the Bilbao airport.
