PBS TeacherLine Courses
Boise State University's Division of Extended Studies has partnered with Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) to offer graduate professional education credit for PBS TeacherLine, online professional development courses. These top-quality, standards-based courses are designed for PreK-12 teachers in the areas of Math, Reading/Language Arts, Science, Instructional Technology, and Instructional Strategies. The accessible online format of these courses makes learning fun, flexible and collaborative.
Course offerings include classes like these:
- Creating Units to Support Differing Learning Styles
- Building Critical Thinking Skills for Online Research
- Developing Algebraic Thinking
- Raising Readers: Preparing Preschoolers for Success
- Fostering Cooperative Learning, Discussion, and Critical Thinking in Elementary Math

Registration for PBS TeacherLine Courses
There is a two-step registration process for these courses:
- You must first register for the course itself through PBS Teacherline.
- Following registration for the course, you must register for the credit through Boise State University. This is done by clicking on the course title on the PBS Classes list web page.
PLEASE NOTE: It is very important that you use the same email address on the Boise State University registration page as you used to register on the PBS TeacherLine page. Please also be sure that you are registering for the correct section on the Boise State University site. The section is the number group following the dot after the PBS course number. For example PBSINST300.156 is section 156 of INST 300.
Fees for credits are in addition to the course fees charged by PBS. Credit fees are $80 per credit through Boise State University.
- 1-Credit Course - $80 + PBS course fee
- 2-Credit Course - $160 + PBS course fee
- 3-Credit Course - $240 + PBS course fee
