Gowen Staff, Services & Map

Extended Studies Gowen staff are available 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and in the evenings during the first week of classes each semester to provide direction, assistance, and to answer questions.

Security and Access to the Gowen Field Site

Gowen Field is a military installation, which requires Boise State employees and students to submit to a security check before being granted access to the base.

Non-Military students and instructors attending Boise State classes at the Gowen Field site must submit the required Security Check Form for each semester they attend classes at Gowen Field. A Gowen Field base pass will be valid throughout the semester for which it is issued. Note: Students and instructors will not be allowed to attend classes at Gowen Field without it.

International students attending Boise State classes at the Gowen Field site must schedule an appointment with the Gowen Field Pass and Registration Office at least ten (10) business days prior to the beginning of the semester. International students will need to provide legible copies of their passport, visa and I-20. International students must call the Gowen Field Pass and Registration Office at (208) 422-5367 to schedule their appointment.

Prior to the start of the classes:

  1. Please read the Gowen Base Pass Instructions (PDF) - Procedures for non-military students and instructors to gain access to Gowen Field
  2. Download a Security Check Form (Word doc) and fill in the information.
  3. If the person does not own the vehicle(s) listed on the Security Check Form, they must have a lease agreement, power of attorney, or notarized statement (example: Temporary Use Authorization Form [PDF] ) from the registered owner of the vehicle granting them permission to use the vehicle on Gowen Field. The notarized authorization form must specify the inclusive dates of use.
  4. Once the Security Check Form is filled in and saved, either:
  5. After the Gowen Field Pass and Registration Office has processed the Security Check Form, individuals will be notified via their Bronco email that their Gowen Field base pass is ready for pick up.

    Students and instructors must go to the Gowen Field Pass and Registration Office, located at the front gate of Gowen Field, to pick up their semester base pass. Gowen Field Pass and Registration Office hours are 7 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and Noon - 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Boise State students who have a current military identification card are able to access Gowen Field for their Boise State classes without submitting the Security Check Form. Military ID holders are asked to advise the Boise State Gowen Field site coordinator of their military status (member, dependent or retired) prior to the start of the semester.

Gowen Field Location & Map

The Boise State Gowen Field site is located in Building #521 on Gowen Field.

The entrance to Gowen Field is on the back (south) side of the Boise Airport (just off Gowen Road). 

NOTE: Be advised that Ada County prohibits parking on the south perimeter of Gowen Field.
