When you design a web site you must make a lot of compromises.  This web site is graphically challenging.  That means it takes a little longer than a lot of sites to download.  I recognize this weakness but I feel that sacrafice is worth it.  The pictures are a central feature of this web site. 

I designed this site to be viewed by people on small monitors set at a resolution of 640X 480.  This will give you the biggest pictures with the fastest download time.   I recommend viewing the site with Internet Explorer 4.0 but Netscape and Explorer 3.0 seem to work almost as well.  I have tried to load the pages so that some text loads up front.  That way you can read a paragraph or two while the images are loading in the background.
